Lava and Rishyap fall in the buffer region of Neora Valley National Park, the last of the few remaining bio-diversities in our country and a UNESCO World Heritage Site is the birder's paradise and called as an heaven on earth for nature lovers, bird watchers, trekkers.This pristine forest, still largely unexplored, offers protection to more than 250 species of birds which includes the bearded vulture, the Himalayan Griffon, the Red-Legged Falcon, The Great Pied Hornbill, The Khalij Pheasant, Jerdon's Baza, Rusty-Bellied Shortwing, Golden Breasted Fulvetta along with Pygmy Wren Babbler, Long billed Wren babbler, Rufous Throated wren babbler, different species of cuckoos and many more, many of which are Red Listed according to IUCN.
