Responsible Tourism

It’s extremely motivating to see that more and more people are indulging into adventure travels these days. These trips mostly include trekking, camping, rafting, cycling, etc. Unfortunately, very few of them are bothered enough in the proper disposal of the wastes they accumulate during a program. The Himalayan Mountain Range has been converted to a huge garbage dump considering the number of treks and expeditions conducted these days. It is estimated that is should take at least 50 years to clear off all the garbage accumulated in the mountains. The impact? Glacial melting, global warming, rise in water level, etc.

DIRTBOOTS ADVENTURE strongly discourages polluting the trail and campsite during any event it undertakes. We do not tamper nature and leave her just as beautiful she is. We aspire to the principles of "Leave No Trace" and endeavor to operate our treks in a way that the waste generated is disposed of in the best possible way.

The old adage says, “Take only photographs, leave only footprints”. But now, we have rehashed that saying and encourage you to “Take only photographs and 10 pieces of litter, leave only footprints.” We know our effort is minuscule but we believe that our small steps should take us a long way – towards a greener and sustainable future, and we need your help in achieving that ...

"True Vision Children Home" is a children home located at a remote village in Darjeeling district, West Bengal, India. The children home is run by the Pastor of the local church. There are approx 20 children right now who are in the age group 3 - 10 years. A few of them are orphans and few belong to families who are too poor to give their children a proper living. Dirtboots Adventure is privileged to bear the cost of their education for the last few years along with visiting the children home regularly to spend some quality time with them and ensure that they are getting a good education and a better living.
